• Backend AI Integration into PHP-based Systems: Develop, expand, and maintain PHP middleware that connects our AI solutions with Zendesk and Digistore’s backend systems

• Frontend Feature Development with AI Capabilities: Build and enhance modern frontend components—optionally powered by AI tools—to enable interactive, intuitive user experiences for both internal and external applications

• Tool-Based Workflow Automation (e.g., n8n): Design, implement, and maintain process automations using workflow tools like n8n. This includes triggering actions via APIs, managing webhooks, and ensuring seamless orchestration across internal and third-party systems

• Set Up and Maintain Databases: Configure, monitor, and maintain relational databases that support the integration middleware, ensuring efficient data access, transformation, and storage for AI-powered features and backend services

• Sustain and Extend Integration Codebase: Take full ownership of the PHP-based middleware layer that acts as the connective tissue between AI services and Digistore’s platform—ensuring long-term stability, scalability, and performance

Your superpowers

• Expertise in PHP and full-stack web development: Proven experience in building and maintaining scalable applications with PHP backends, databases and modern frontend tech.

• AI affinity and OpenAI ecosystem familiarity: Comfortably uses AI APIs like OpenAI, with practical understanding of prompt engineering and AI capabilities.

• API and niddleware integration proficiency: Skilled in connecting services via APIs and integrating third-party platforms with internal systems.

• Tool familiarity (n8n, Zapier, etc.): Ability to build complex automation flows with tools like n8n, with a deep understanding of event triggers and webhooks.

• Flexibility and willingness to take on challenges: Openness to handle tasks outside core expertise when needed, showing motivation and contributing to team goals in unfamiliar areas.

• PHP (Symfony or custom frameworks): Advanced-level backend engineering skills, ideally with experience in maintaining larger codebases and crafting robust middleware logic.

• JavaScript, HTML, CSS (Frontend Basics + React/Vue): Good working knowledge of frontend stacks to assist or own end-to-end feature development.

• REST API & Webhook Integration: Comfort with designing and integrating APIs, handling authentication flows (OAuth2, API keys), and managing error resilience.

• Database and Data Layer Management (SQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch, etc.): Proficient in managing and interacting with various types of data systems, including relational databases (e.g., SQL), NoSQL stores (e.g., MongoDB), and search-optimized data layers (e.g., Elasticsearch). Skilled in data modeling, querying, transformation, and extraction using appropriate tools (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Pandas), supporting scalable integrations and AI-enhanced features.

• n8n, Make.com or Similar Workflow Tools: Building and maintaining workflow automations connecting Digistore systems with 3rd party apps.

• ... you are not confident developing full-stack features alone: The role involves both backend and occasional frontend contributions—autonomy is expected.
